Google Pay safety

Your actual card number is not shared

When you pay using Google Pay, your physical credit or debit card number is not shared with a merchant. Instead, a virtual card number is used and this way your card details stay safe.

Payment Confirmation

Each time after you make a payment using Google Pay, you will receive a confirmation with information on the payment date, amount and the merchant, which will help you to detect any suspicious transactions right away.

You can lock your phone in case it is lost or stolen

In case your phone is lost or stolen, you can lock it from any place, set a new password or wipe it clean of your data using Android Device Manager, or you can disable Google Pay in CitiPhone.

At the same time please remember about these simple tips that will help you protect your accounts against unauthorized use:

  • Do not install any software from untrusted sources. Use only the official stores supported by the producers (Google Play, Apple App Store, Windows Phone Store).
  • Make sure that you have the latest operational system from trusted sources on your device and please remember to have it regularly updated
  • Make sure that the anti-virus software on the phone which you use for Google Pay is up-to-date and comes from trusted sources.
  • We recommend to disable the option „Allow to install the applications from sources other than Play Store” – we will never ask you to enable this option.
  • Do not make your mobile device available to anyone and do not leave it unattended in public places.
