Citi Handlowy signed an agreement to sell its consumer banking business to VeloBank
Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A. (Citi Handlowy) signed an agreement to sell its consumer banking business to VeloBank S.A. The transaction includes: consumer banking operations, wealth management, micro-companies banking and consumer business of the brokerage house.
The goal of the transaction is to combine our experience in serving consumers with VeloBank’s technological and innovative potential.
The sale process has no impact on current operations of Citi Handlowy. We will continue to provide the same high quality service and the access to services and products will remain unchanged. Customer service, call-centers and our branch network are at your disposal in the same locations and opening hours.
The merger of consumer banking with VeloBank will take place after receiving required approvals, including regulatory ones, and achieving operational readiness, which is expected for mid-2026.
The process will be smooth and automatic – customers will have access to the same wide range of banking products.
What is very important, all Citi Handlowy’s consumer banking employees are moving to VeloBank. This means that you will have the same advisors following the merger.
VeloBank is a bank with American capital and its shareholders include trusted international financial institutions such as European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). We believe that VeloBank will continue to provide high quality service to our clients and offer them cutting-edge technology with a wide range of banking products.
We will keep you informed through separate communications about the key stages of the merger of Citi Handlowy consumer banking with VeloBank.
