Citi has been named Poland's Best Investment Bank for M&A in the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026. This is one of four awards for the Citi group in the Central and Eastern Europe region in this year's competition, alongside the titles of CEE's Best Investment Bank, Romania's Best Investment Bank, and Turkey's Best Investment Bank.

The Citi M&A team, together with Citi Handlowy, advises Polish and international companies on merger and acquisition processes, combining local experience with Citi's global infrastructure and sector knowledge. The bank combines transaction advisory with a full range of investment banking services – from providing financing, through risk management, to access to international capital markets – which allows clients to execute transactions comprehensively, with a single financial partner at every stage of the process.

In 2025, the Citi team, together with Citi Handlowy, was involved in Polish and international merger and acquisition transactions worth a total of over EUR 10 billion, including acting as a financial advisor on the sale of shares in Santander Bank Polska and Santander TFI by Banco Santander to Erste Group – a transaction with a total value of EUR 7 billion. Citi and Citi Handlowy are participating in the delisting process of InPost from the Amsterdam stock exchange, valued at EUR 7.8 billion. This is one of the largest transactions of its kind on the market.

"This award proves the direction in which we are developing Citi Handlowy as the Bank of Global Business. We want to be the bank of first choice for companies with international aspirations, and advising on merger and acquisition transactions is a natural part of this strategy. The lon-standing experience of our Polish team, combined with our collaboration with Citi colleagues worldwide, is instrumental in this success," – says Elżbieta Czetwertyńska, CEO of Citi Handlowy..
