Legal basis: Art. 70 item 1) of Act of 29 July 2005 on Public Offering, Conditions Governing the Introduction of Financial Instruments to Organized Trading and Public Companies – purchase of significant blocks of shares

The Management Board of Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A. (hereafter referred to as the Bank) hereby announces that on 20 February 2009 the Bank received a notification from Pioneer Pekao Investment Management S.A. (PPIM), submitted pursuant to Art. 87 section 1 item 3 letter b) and Art. 87 section 1 item 2 letter a) of Act of 29 July 2005 on Public Offering, Conditions Governing the Introduction of Financial Instruments to Organized Trading and Public Companies, about a purchase of a significant block of shares of the Bank. The notification received from PPIM constitutes an attachment hereto.
