Public recognition

The Foundation's programs and initiatives have won widespread public recognition, with multiple awards as tokens of appreciation. Here are some major ones:

Responsible Business Forum Report
In the 2018 edition of the Responsible Business report, there were 20 Citi in Poland CSR initiatives. For the first time, the report included such initiatives as Citi Pride Network Poland, workshops about diversity diversity for employees.

Citi Handlowy for the twelfth time in the prestigious RESPECT Index
In 2018, Citi Handlowy was included in the RESPECT Index for the twelfth time, thus fulfilling the assumptions of the Social Responsibility Strategy of Bank Handlowy in Warsaw S.A.

EtEthical company
In March 2018 Citi Handlowy received the title of Super Ethical Company, in a competition organized by Puls Biznesu in cooperation with PwC. Only 9 companies were awarded in this category, of which Citi Handlowy was included in this prestigious group as the only bank.

Citi Handlowy for the eleventh time in RESPECT Index
In 2017 the eleventh edition of the prestigious RESPECT Index took place, once again with Citi Handlowy among the winners. The Bank is one of the few listed companies that has been continuously rewarded since the Index was established in 2009.

ArtSherlock with the mobile industry Oscar
The ArtSherlock application, created in the partnership cooperation of the Communi Hereditate Foundation and The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation, was awarded with the Mobile Trends 2016 award - the Oscar of the mobile industry in the "Innovation" category.

Citi Handlowy was awarded the "Ethical Company" title by Puls Biznesu.
Citi Handlowy was awarded the "Ethical Company" title by Puls Biznesu. In the second edition of the business journal's competition the jury selected 15 companies which follow the highest ethical standards, conduct complex, systemic actions aimed at building and strengthening the organization culture based on values and show the most intense activity in this field as compared with other Polish enterprises.

The Responsible Business Forum features 23 CSR initiatives of Citi in Poland
This year's 14th edition of the report prepared by the Responsible Business Forum features 23 CSR initiatives of Citi in Poland - 5 more than in the previous year. For the first time the report encompassed new programs: Citi Microentrepreneurship Award, Santa's Assistant, Hi - Tech Startup, Conference of the Network of Entrepreneurial Women and the survey "Poles' Attitudes Towards Saving".

Citi Handlowy in the RESPECT Index for the ninght time
Citi Handlowy was ranked first in the ninth edition of the Ranking of Responsible Companies in the banking, insurance and financial sectors category. The Bank earned the highest score, which is the sum of the points in the five audited categories - responsible leadership, community involvement, communication with stakeholders, and social innovation and responsible management. The Ranking of Responsible Companies has been prepared for many years by the daily newspaper Gazeta Prawna, in cooperation with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

18 CSR initiatives of Citi Handlowy have been featured in 13th edition of the Responsible Business Forum's Report. The Report has been released annually since 2002 and it is the only such publication in Poland recognizing the most important corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Citi Handlowy in the RESPECT Index for the eight time
The eighth edition of the prestigious RESPECT Index could not lack Citi Handlowy. This year, the Bank for the eighth time was among socially responsible companies in the first in Central - Eastern Europe index of responsible companies, initiated by the Stock Exchange in Warsaw.

Faces of Entrepreneurship Competition
The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation won the "Faces of Entrepreneurship" competition organized by the Global Entrepreneurship Week Foundation. It came in first in the "Institution supporting entrepreneurship" category. It competed among 10 state institutions and NGOs supporting the development of entrepreneurship, innovativeness and broadening economic knowledge.
The "Faces of Entrepreneurship" competition is held as part of the 7th edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Week. It is a continuation of a social campaign started this July under the same title. Awards are also granted in two other categories: "Young Entrepreneur" (business owners aged under 30 who have been conducting business activity for less than 6 years) and "Company Supporting the Young" (businesses which employ and provide development opportunities to young employees aged under 30).

Citi Handlowy in the RESPECT Index for the seventh time
Since 2009, Citi Handlowy has appeared every year among the companies honored by the Index.
The RESPECT Index, initiated by the Warsaw Stock Exchange, is Central and Eastern Europe's first index of responsible companies. To be listed in this ranking, a company has to maintain high standards of corporate governance, disclosure, and investor relations. Activities in the areas of ecology, CSR, and employee relations, which are an integral part of the business strategy of the bank, also have an impact on getting listed in the RESPECT Index.

Leaders of Sustainable Development Competition
In 2013 Citi Handlowy was distinguished in Leaders of Sustainable Development Competition. The competition is designed for companies that successfully combine business activities with the principles of sustainable development, and its organizers are Forbes and PwC.

Dziennik Gazeta Prawna Ranking of Responsible Companies
On April 23 the results were announced of the 7th annual Dziennik Gazeta Prawna Ranking of Responsible Companies. Citi Handlowy, which has appeared in every ranking since the first edition, maintained a high position in its field (banking, finance and insurance), taking second place on the podium. In the overall ranking, it retained its 12th place position from last year.
The Ranking of Responsible Companies has been published for the 7th time and is one of the most prestigious rankings of its kind in Poland. Thus far, 150 companies have taken part in all the annual editions. For this year's ranking, a survey was sent to the largest companies in the Polish market, who had to answer 60 questions in five areas of CSR: responsible leadership, communication with stakeholders, community involvement, responsible management and social innovation. The survey is modified annually, taking into account changes in the market. In each area a maximum of 100 points can be obtained - this means that all the areas are given equal weight.

11th edition of the  report "Responsible Business in Poland: Good Practices"
As many as 10 CSR initiatives of Citi Handlowy were cited by the Forum of Responsible Business in the 11th edition of its report "Responsible Business in Poland: Good Practices". In comparison to other 9 banks mentioned in the report, Citi Handlowy has proved to be the best with the highest number of practices included in the document.

Together We Are Building Social Capital
"Financial Independence of Women", a program of The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation and the Women's Rights Centre, was among the 10 best practices honored in the competition "Together We Are Building Social Capital". Its aim is to highlight the benefits of cooperation between business and the NGO sector.

Leader of Responsible Business Award
Citi Handlowy is the winner of the first Leaders of Responsible Business Contest in the category "Financial Institutions". The contest is organized by CR Coalition, a group of companies led by Employers of Poland - the largest and oldest association of employers in the country. The main idea behind the contest is to recognize companies who conduct their business in accordance with Responsible Business Code and develop CSR practices relevant to their industry.

European Employee Volunteering Award
Managed by The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation, Employee Volunteering Program at Citi Handlowy is the Polish winner of the European Employee Volunteering Award. The contest was organized as a part of European Year of Volunteering. Citi Handowy's program is the winner in the category "Large Company".

Order of Merit for Polish Culture
Minister of Culture and National Heritage awarded The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation with the honorary "Order of Merit for Polish Culture", for the Foundation's role in the recovery of the painting Resting in Tatra Shed by Wojciech Gerson, looted in World War II. The recovered painting was donated to Warsaw Royal Castle.

Benefactor of the Year 2009
In 2010 the Foundation won its second Benefactor of the Year title, this time in the category "Strategic Corporate Community Involvement Program". The award was issued in recognition of the comprehensive, long-term strategy of financial education for Polish society, delivered by the Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation. Granted by the Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland, Benefactor of the Year is the most prestigious award in the area of corporate community involvement.

RESPECT Index
RESPECT, Warsaw Stock Exchange's newest index, groups businesses with the highest corporate responsibility ratings. Having received the first "A" rating for observing the best business standards, Citi Handlowy was included in the list of 16 highest-scoring socially responsible companies and kept its place in the RESPECT Index in the following rating rounds in January and July 2011.

 

BI-NGO Index
BI-NGO Index is a website test of 500 largest Polish companies for communicating CSR. In 2009 Citi Handlowy was the first company ever to reach the maximum available score. In the following round, announced in February 2011, Citi Handlowy remained at the top of the list with maximum score.

Image - Strong 2009
The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation won the Image-Strong award for strategic involvement in the DNA research project aimed at identification of Nicolas Copernicus' grave.

STOB Award
Award of the Association for Financial Security of the Citizens of the Polish Republic (STOB). The Foundation was recognized for its strategy of involvement in financial education initiatives.

Honorary Pro Publico Bono Prize
The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation and Citi Handlowy was awarded the honorary Pro Publico Bono Prize for its overall pro-bono contribution.
The award-giving ceremony was held on 11 November 2007, on Poland's Independence Day. The Prize, issued by Pro Publico Bono Foundation, is the most prestigious
token of recognition on the Polish NGO market.

Colours of Volunteering
"Colours of Volunteering" Main award in the Corporate Volunteering category for the Employee Volunteering Program at Citi Handlowy, managed by The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation - in 2005 and 2006.
Colours of Volunteering is the most prestigious award in the volunteering community.

Benefactor of the Year
The Foundation won the Benefactor of the Year 2006 title in the category: Cooperation between NGOs and business sector - large corporation" Benefactor of the Year is the most prestigious award in the field of corporate community involvement. It was design to promote philanthropic activity in business, the idea of corporate social responsibility, as well as inform the public about pro bono campaigns and programs organized jointly by companies, their employees and non-governmental organisations.
